SF ANYONE?

You want to write sci-fi? Then you might want to check this out:

cut and paste:
Hamilton, ON (PRWEB) July 7, 2006 -- In 2006, Science Fiction & Fantasy as a literary genre are rapidly declining. Book sales are down, and there is a shortage of talented writers. In order to help fill this gap, The Science Fiction Review has issued a call for writers.

Are you an aspiring writer hoping to get your short works published? Would you like a little more exposure for your name among Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers? If so, then you may want to check out the Science Fiction Review, found at http://www.sfreview.net .
Founded by long-time Scifi/Fantasy reader Brian Vuyk in mid-2005, the Science Fiction Review is intended to provide a space for unknown writers to be able to publish their first works, and to gain name recognition. In addition, The Science Fiction Review works to increase the exposure of the genre, by providing a free source of SF&F information and original high-quality.

From founder Vuyk, "The idea, when I originally founded the site was to promote less well-known authors among the wider Science Fiction and Fantasy genres. It can be very difficult for a writer to gain any name recognition, especially since Scifi/Fantasy has fallen out of popularity in recent years. If I can offer a way to get their work read, it may allow these lesser authors a way to break into the wider audience."

Currently, there exists the possibility of a future anthology containing some of the higher rated submissions to the site.

The Science Fiction Review is also looking for review writers and columnists to capture the current state of Science Fiction & Fantasy.

Although i might say that the news quite old (posted on 6th July 2006). But hey, i guess it didn't mentioned any deadlines, so no harm for trying IMHO. Who knows, you might be the next J.K Rowling or Terry Pratchett or The Eddings or Neil Gaiman or any prick who wrote fantasy that making money or fame.

This is guidelines for anyone interested to contribute.

And no...we don't have any name for our band yet.

Do you have any suggestion?

CHINESE WHISPERS AND LAKE WHISPERS

Went to see Chinese Whisper by Francesca (Patricia - inside jokes with my girlfriend) Beard last Saturday at KLPAC. My first experience with the ever-funny ms Beard. I used to read her stuff, in fact begging my friend, Ise (would happen to have her book, signed!)to give it to me. Ise is such a clever man. He refuse my offer.

Anyway, it's such a wonderful moment with ms Beard. I even participate with a few audience-interaction things. Plus i don't know before this that she also a fan of Buffy The Vampire Slayer. There you go! Buffy rules! Whedon rules!

I do hope to see her again, maybe next year.

After the show i spent quite wonderful moment with someone, i say...special. (Yes, there's mode changing here. From poetic (Francesca Beard) to downright 'jiwang'). I guess nothing more extraordinary than driving along Tasik Titiwangsa's road with her sitting beside me. And of course with Sampoerna in my hand. We barely spoke. She fall asleep few times. I yawn more. There's no radio in the car. Yes, it's just romantic. Just appreciate the moment (other mild word to describe 'when boring man meets boring girl').

Yeah, i guess i love her.
